Multi-Language Reports using Power BI Parameters

This article is a continuation of my earlier two articles (Part-1 & Part-2 ), in the previous two articles we saw how we can translate the metadata to different other languages, and in this, we will see how we can create multi-language reports using Power BI parameters.

Use Case: The Global IT Operations Management Team (a distributed team working in different locations) who reviews the weekly Bug Reports is having a hard time understanding the Bug Description raised by the QA teams. So they requested to translate the Bug Description in the Reports to their native language so they can better understand and analyze the cause of the issues and prevent them from happening again.

So let see how we can fulfill their request

  1. Below is the sample Bugs Summary Dashboard.

2. The management team is having a hard time understanding the description, so we have to translate then to the native language, for that we have to change the existing model

3. Add a Language column to the Bug Description table as shown below
