In my previous article, we explored how Azure Cosmos DB can significantly enhance operational reporting capabilities, by leveraging features such as real-time data replication through mirroring in Microsoft Fabric.

In this article, we will delve into the practical steps of creating operational reports using Azure Cosmos DB and Microsoft Power BI Fabric.

Step-1 : Create an Azure Cosmos DB Account
Step-2 :Load Data into Cosmos DB using .NET(C#) — Azure Function
Step-3 :Query Azure Cosmos DB data
Step-4 :Mirror Azure Cosmos DB to Microsoft Fabric
Step-5: Configure the continuous backup for Azure Cosmos DB
Step-6 :Query the mirrored Database in Microsoft Fabric
Step-7 :Create Operational Reports using the Mirrored Database
Step-8 :Publish and Share the Reports with your Team

Lets jump into the action and start with our first step in the process

Step 1: Create an Azure Cosmos DB Account
→ Go to the Azure Portal and sign in with your Azure account.
→ Create a new Azure Cosmos DB Account: In the left-hand menu, select “Create a resource”. → Search for “Azure Cosmos DB” and select “Create”. → Choose the Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL → Click Create.
